Yesterday, while playing around with applications, I wanted to get down everyone’s birthdays so they showed up in iCal. I don’t remember birthdays… I don’t even know how old my parents are But there isn’t a need to remember such things is there? I do give presents etc when I plan some stuff together with Neoneo and maybe Yaoyao. In order to avoid that, I tried to use iCal to remember them.
At first, I tried adding events and repeating them, but then found a better way… activating the birthday calendar. In order for it to work, I needed to add profiles of each...

OMG I’m officially 18! I can finally go to clubs, and do various other things Well, today I am lucky enough to celebrate my birthday together with Lao Lao, as she uses the lunar calendar for her birthday, while I use the normal calendar, and today happened to be the same day!
I got up and my mum rang to wish me Happy Birthday. I went for a shower, and then my dad called and wished Lao Lao happy birthday too and then me (while I was in the shower lol). Da Yi came early and went out for shopping.
Then people came from Tianjin. Da Yi (Da Da), 3 Yi, Da Jiu (Da Da) and ____, Lao Jiu Ma and Li...
Photobooth!

While playing around with my Mac and wanted to have some fun with my little sister, I digged around in the Applications folder in hopes of finding some application to take photos with the inbuilt eyesight camera. Guess what I found? Photobooth!
Photobooth uses the inbuilt camera and you are able to use many effects (thermo, sepia, b/w, x-ray) as well as warping, like what I have on my Sony Ericsson phone (Facewarp) where it distorts your face in many various shapes to look like weird aliens and creatures. It also has this cool scene feature where you are able to set pre existing backgrounds or...
Macbook Pro’s glass glossy screen - the truth
Posted by admin in China Dec 08 - Feb 09!, Technology, Thoughts on January 30, 2009 | No Comments
Well, not really the truth, but my own personal opinion.
I’ve heard many comments from various other people, saying that the new Aluminum Macbook range have a very glossy screen that is equivalent to a mirror when used in daylight or under light indoors.
Maybe it’s because of the lights here, but I see no reflection, and love the wide glass screen. It’s bright (thanks to LED) and is very, very clear! (I don’t like matte, but I’m not a designer). Sure if you intentionally look at the light on the roof through your screen to see if it show, then duh of course it...
Yazsoft’s Speed Download Lite
Posted by admin in Technology on January 29, 2009 | No Comments
After installing a bunch of must-have softwares for my new Mac, a friend recommended me try Speed Download as a download manager. I searched ‘Speed Download’ in the Safari Google search and found Yazsoft’s website (which I love the design!)
I downloaded the Lite version, as I didn’t need the FTP or any other features that the full feature has. I only needed a download manager and this is it!
You are able to get the Lite version for $20, while the full featured version is avaliable for $25, avaliable at Yazsoft’s website. You should definitely check it out! They have...
I got my Macbook Pro!
Posted by admin in China Dec 08 - Feb 09!, Family, Featured Articles, Personal, Technology on January 28, 2009 | No Comments
So after a years worth of planning, nagging and saving, I have finally managed to get hold of my Aluminum Macbook Pro!
I got the higher end model (2.53Ghz model) as I wanted it to be able to be used for about 4-5 years and wanted to future-proof it. Plus, I heard Slow Leopard will be coming out (OpenCL?) so the extra graphics memory etc will help when it is used for day to day applications too. I’m glad I got the ADC Student developers membership too, so hopefully I’ll get it for free when it comes out like with what they did with Tiger and Leopard.
Basically I got a family friend...
Okay… Testing testing Windows Live Writer (Beta)
Posted by admin in Featured Articles, Site Info/Updates, Technology, Websites on October 3, 2008 | 1 Comment
Hm… just got linked to the new MSN Live (9) programs on Microsoft’s website. Whilst downloading the new MSN 9 Beta, I decided to install the Writer as well.
The description says:
Create great-looking blog posts, including photos, videos, maps, events, and tags, and publish them to almost any blog service—Windows Live, WordPress, Blogger, Live Journal, TypePad, and many more.
It does just that! After installing it asked for my site URL and login details, then it went ahead and automatically detected the blog type (in this case Wordpress) and downloaded the necessary files.
As...
SE Accessory - HBH-DS970 Bluetooth Headset
Posted by admin in Technology on September 25, 2007 | No Comments
When I lost my earbud from my W660i earphones the other day, I scanned the internet to see if there were any replacements of the same colour. I noticed there wasn’t and I knew the earphones were limited edition/rare. Even a few versions of the Red Rose phone itself didn’t have the red earphones. I desperately searched eBay for W660i compatible earphones, and I got the same one but in white colour. As I was searching. I came up with this item:
Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 Bluetooth headset
It appealed to me beacuse I’ve never tried bluetooth headsets at all in my life. I thought...

Apple secretly loves Microsoft and Microsoft loves Apple back.
Today whilst checking out compatibility plugins and tweaks for this Wordpress blog, I just found out that Apple released a public beta of Safari for Windows!
Being an Apple fan, I’ve always liked Apple’s Mac OSX’s interface. It’s simple yet powerful. I’ve used Apple computers last year when I took computing. It was quite fun. Really different to Windows. The things just… well, work. I’ve also been told by me computing teacher that the OS is very efficient on hardware. For example, old coloured...
New Phone X2 (S500i -> W660i)
Posted by admin in Personal, Technology, Thoughts on September 23, 2007 | No Comments
Recently, I got a new phone. Actually I got 2 new phones. The first new phone I got was faulty. It’s a long story.
My NEC N840 broke, actually it was drowned. It was forgotten in the washing machine and after the wash a few long hours later, realised was there in my pocket/washed pants. Ah well. So any-who, I was allowed to get another phone.
While at a mobile shop with a bunch of phones I could choose from, I decided to see what was all the hype about Sony Ericsson phones. So I ended up getting this baby (black version):
The Ever-so-sexy, sleek and beautiful S500i. If only there wasn’t...
