IE

I don’t understand why Microsoft is still developing IE. IE6 was fail, and IE7 is still fail. So far IE8 is just starting to seem like a decent browser. The whole reason why IE has a large share of the browser market is because they ship it with every Windows OS, and most users are computer illiterate and only use it to check their emails.
Wouldn’t it be a lot easier to start off with Webkit or Chromium instead of trying to clean up a whole pile of code from previous versions?
My dream: When one day I can stop designing websites and make sure it runs like it’s supposed to on...
Joomla? Dunno
Posted by admin in Personal, Websites on October 5, 2008 | 3 Comments
I’ve been working on a new pet project today, which involves Joomla. I’ve played around with Joomla about a two years ago (Joomla 1.0) and I found it really hard to use. One good thing with it is that in the administration panel you can get it to do just about anything. But that is also a bad thing. It’s too complex.
So now I’m working on Joomla 1.5. I decided whether I wanted to try out Drupal instead… but Joomla has cooler themes – and there’s nothing better than cool themes.
I’ve gone through and changed things in the theme, enough to build...
Okay… Testing testing Windows Live Writer (Beta)

Hm… just got linked to the new MSN Live (9) programs on Microsoft’s website. Whilst downloading the new MSN 9 Beta, I decided to install the Writer as well.
The description says:
Create great-looking blog posts, including photos, videos, maps, events, and tags, and publish them to almost any blog service—Windows Live, WordPress, Blogger, Live Journal, TypePad, and many more.
It does just that! After installing it asked for my site URL and login details, then it went ahead and automatically detected the blog type (in this case Wordpress) and downloaded the necessary files.
As...

To those who haven’t got anything apart from the TVNZ Netguide Webchallenge to upload to (therefore can’t show because I assume they have the .htaccess login thing at the moment), please leave in your comments and your email and I will set you up with an account. (From my own webhosting)
Have fun!
PS: Check out browsershots.org if you want to check to see if your website looks correctly under many browsers/OS/settings I use it for my websites and it rox!
TVNZ Netguide Webchallenge 2008 - Another PHAIL (fail) in progress?
Posted by admin in Entertainment/Media, Featured Articles, Reality Wakeup Calls, Thoughts, Websites on September 26, 2008 | 76 Comments
So 2008 has arrived and I’m back to my blogging (I hope to keep it up)
Every year, there is the TVNZ Netguide Webchallenge where students across the country submit their website creations to win some awesome prizes such as cameras, phones, printers and other nifty gadgets.
So 2008 has arrived and TVNZ Netguide Webchallenge 2008 has arrived too! I’m quite interested in looking at this year’s entries, especially since how the 2007 competition failed in pretty much all aspects of judging, organisation and promotion (cheers Alana!).
Will this year be better than last year? Or will...
Another Example of Biased Judging - TVNZ Webchallenge 2007

lmao
Biased/Unfair? You decide.
Unique way to start a blog entry eh? Well earlier this year, I entered in the TVNZ Netguide Webchallenge 2007. I had taken a break last year but decided to enter this year as a Secondary Individual entry.

Like every other year I decide to enter, I was pressured against the Webchallenge’s deadlines. I really should start these a lot earlier. But usually I’m missing the ‘motivation’ and that only comes when there are only a few days left
This year I decided to do it on Japan and it’s culture. Why? Those who know me should...
Nemura: Project
Posted by admin in Site Info/Updates, Websites on October 5, 2007 | No Comments
I’ve always been a supporter for open source developers and their works, as stuff I use come from them. I decided it was a chance to give back to the community.
I’m currently hosting what I have seen as a new project that is coming into the developer’s scene. It’s called Nemura: Project. It’s a variant of the original WP code and it looks like it’s SEO/promotional ready. Personally I’m not sure if I’m going to migrate to Nemura myself, as it is still under alpha stages.
You can check out the website here
Note: I am not dev’ing this project BTW
