Help Stop a Murderer - Animal Cruelty at it’s Worst
I found this website whilst browsing around, and the contents saddened my very much. I love animals, and it breaks my heart to see such a dear animal being killed for ‘art’. Here is the original blog entry:
In 2007 a so called Costa Rican ‘artist’ by the name of Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, paid children to capture a dog from the streets so that he could tie it up in an art gallery and starve it to death. Furthermore the Costa Rica’s Visual Arts Biennial (Bienarte) of 2007 rewarded him for his sickening behavior by granting him the honor of representing the country at the ‘Biennale Centroamericana Honduras 2008′, an honor presented to only six in the Country. According to The Nation Journal of Costa Rica ( 14 September 2007) the jury was composed of Ana Sokoloff (Colombia), Oliver Debroise (Mexico) and Rodolfo Kronfle Chambers (Ecuador), and the winners were chosen based on works of high quality and excellent consistency between idea and implementation. The prestigious ‘Visual Arts Biennial of Central America (Organized by The Entrepreneurs for the Arts) decided that the ‘installation’ was actually art, so in fact Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel act for the 2008 bennial
I found this behavior to be completely appalling. Such an act should never be accepted and it should in no way be praised or rewarded, it is puzzling to me how any Country could want such a disgusting portrayal of human behavior to represent them. I would like to stress that not only is Guillermo Vargas Habacuc to blame for the loss of a life. Each and every person who looked upon Natividad (the dowggy) as well as the museum that allowed this poor starving dog to stay tied to their wall until he died are all to blame, they are all responsible for the cruel torture and murder of Natividad. All of them had the chance to stand up and save Natividad’s life, how dare they try to ease their conscience by saying that it was all in the name of art, how dare they say that the taking of a life, any life, be considered as art. Any heartless person can tie something to a wall and over time allow it to die, how is this in any form art. Isn’t it a behavioral characteristic of a sociopath to find performing the act of torture or witnessing the suffering of another living creature to be considered amusing or pleasing in any way, what sort of message are we presenting when we allow such acts to be passed off as art, where does one draw the line, when does it become unacceptable to kill someone. A life has been snuffed out, forever lost to us because no one spoke up for Natividad, please don’t allow this to happen again, don’t allow the sociopath murderer Guillermo Vargas Habacuc to represent Costa Rica or any nation at the The Bienal Centroamericana Honduras 2008. Please don’t allow another murder to happen in the name of art, boycott his presence at the event. You can voice your disgust by signing the petition on either of the links I have provided bellow. I will be going further than this and I will be boycotting Costa Rica and The Bienal Centroamericana Honduras until action is taken against the murderer Guillermo Vargas Habacuc.

So please. Take a moment and sign the petition if you have any feeling of sadness and stop such a ridiculous and horrible ‘artist’ from getting fame. He took the life of an animal. The dog, man’s best friend is being tortured like this for his own benefit.

The people who observed this sick display also should be tied up and starved to death along with the so called artist. This guy is a killer period. His art sucks in every way. He should be killed period.
people dont think that animals have feelings or feel anything. they are wrong, people that abuse animals should get the same treatment. you have to wonder if they treat their animals this way, do they treat their children the same way. i just think it discusting what they do to animals.
