Life? What do you expect to get out of it?

Sometimes I get these random thoughts.

What is life? What do I want to do? Why am I alive?

Seriously, I mean why do we live? What do we get out of it? Is life more than just a neverending cycle of waking up, eating, and sleeping?

I seriously don’t know what I want to do with my life. I cannot understand why animals die and why they live. What’s the use of continuing a species?

Take insects for example: They hatch from eggs, eat and grow into adults. The adults then find a partner and the female insect lays eggs and then dies. I really don’t see the meaning of living in the first place? Is it to experience life and how it feels like to live? Are we created for a reason?

Sometimes as I eat or sleep these questions just come up. Maybe it’s just me and I am suffering from some type of depression? Am I the only one that thinks this way?

You ever think that maybe, just maybe, this life isn’t about the individual (be they insect, cat, elephant, fish, or human) but moreso perhaps something bigger, like we’re all just tiny tiny parts to it’s grand design?

I’m not necessarily talking about a higher power, just that maybe you’re looking at things on too small of a scale.

So tomorrow, when you wake up, take a second and think about how good it feels to breathe.

Thanks for your comment, it really explains a lot. Now I just think of living as experiencing how it is to live, feel and have those who love me around me. ^^
