Okay… Testing testing Windows Live Writer (Beta)
Hm… just got linked to the new MSN Live (9) programs on Microsoft’s website. Whilst downloading the new MSN 9 Beta, I decided to install the Writer as well.
The description says:
Create great-looking blog posts, including photos, videos, maps, events, and tags, and publish them to almost any blog service—Windows Live, WordPress, Blogger, Live Journal, TypePad, and many more.
It does just that! After installing it asked for my site URL and login details, then it went ahead and automatically detected the blog type (in this case Wordpress) and downloaded the necessary files.
As I am writing it uses the front page style (WYSIWYG), meaning I can see how it looks like in real-time. All I have to do is click Publish and off it goes! Don’t know if the ‘Insert Picture’ works or not, I’ll give it a whirl now…
AND IT WORKS FINE! (Uploads it to the server too!)
Don’t you love it when something just… works? This is one of them.
If you are into blogging, you must try this out. There’s a load of other cool applications too, like the Outlook/Windows Live Mail bridge (official!) which means you can finally be able to use Outlook with Hotmail/Live Mail again.
